SPEAKER 1: David Raynolds
David Reynolds is currently Professor of Educational Effectiveness at the University of Southampton. He was one of the founders of the international school effectiveness movement and has researched and published extensively in the areas of educational effectiveness,educational policy and educational improvement. His most recent books are Failure Free Education: the Past,Present and Future of School Effectiveness and School Improvement(Routledge,2010) and School Effectivenss and Improvement Research,Policy and Practice-Challenging the Orthodoxy? (with Chapman, Armstrong, Harris, Muijs and Sammons).
He has also had a close relationship with policymaking in both England and Wales,where he is currently Senior Educational Policy Adviser.

SPEAKER 2: Chris Chapman
Christopher Chapman is Professor of Education at the University of Manchester where he leads the Educational Change and Improvement Research Group and is co-director of the Coalition of Research Schools. His research interests are in educational change, leadership and improvement and his recent work has focused on collaborative and networking approaches to improvement inlow performing schools and those serving socio-economically disadvantaged communities. Chris is also editor of the international journal School Leadership and Management and his most recent books High Leverage Leadership and School Effectiveness and Improvement Research, policy and practice: Challenging the orthodoxy? are published by Routledge.

SPEAKER 3: Alma Harris
Dr Alma Harris is Professor and Pro-Director (Leadership) at the Institute of Education, London. Her research work focuses on organizational change and development. She is internationally known for her work on school improvement, focusing particularly on improving schools in challenging circumstances. Alma has written extensively about leadership in schools and she is an expert on the theme of distributed leadership. Her book 'Distributed Leadership in Schools: Developing the Leaders of Tomorrow' (published in 2008 by Routledge & Falmer Press) has been translated into several languages. She is currently seconded to the 'Welsh Assembly Government' as a Professional Adviser and is currently assisting with the process of system wide reform. She has taken the position the Presidency of the 'International Congress of School Effectiveness and School Improvement' since January 2013 when the 26th International Congress in Chile ended.

DISCUSSANT 1: Professor Nicholas Sun-Keung Pang
Nicholas Pang is the Chairman of Department of Educational Administration and Policy (EAP), Director of the Hong Kong Centre for the Development of Educational Leadership (HKCDEL), and Leader of the School Development and Evaluation Team (SDET), at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is also the Director of the Master of Arts Programme in School Improvement and Leadership (MASIL) of CUHK, and Director of the Preparation for Principalship (PFP) Courses and School Managers (SMs) Training Programmes, commissioned by Hong Kong Education Bureau. Prof. Pang specializes in educational administration, management and leadership, as well as school effectiveness and improvement. He has been publishing widely in these areas, locally and internationally, in various academic media.
DISCUSSANT 2: Pak Tee Ng, PhD
Pak Tee Ng is Associate Dean, Leadership Learning and the Head of Policy and Leadership Studies Academic Group at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He teaches in the programmes for school leaders (Principal-ship and Head-of-Department-ship), postgraduate programmes for research candidates (Master, EdD and PhD) and in the foundation programmes for trainee teachers.
Pak Tee read Mathematics at Cambridge University [BA(Hons), MA]. He subsequently read Management at Leicester University [MBA] and Bradford University [PhD]. He was also trained as a teacher at the National Institute of Education [PGDE]. His main areas of teaching, research, training and consultancy at NIE are Educational Leadership, Educational Policies, Learning Organisation, Change Management, Knowledge Management, Innovation, Complexity, and Coaching.
Pak Tee is currently the Executive Editor of Educational Research for Policy and Practice, the flagship journal of the Asia-Pacific Educational Research Association. He is also an Associate Editor/Editorial Board Member of several international refereed journals. He has authored several books and numerous journal articles, book chapters and conference papers. He was a Visiting Fellow at Cambridge University and a Visiting Scholar at Boston College.
